What kind of society do we wish for? Do we wish to get along with our neighbors? Do we wish to trust that if we engage with our local merchants that they stand by what they sell us? Or do we prefer that we all do whatever we can to make more money? Do how others live and have available to them opportunities impact me? If I treat someone awfully, even if not in front of the world, does that not affect everyone's wealth? Do we not all have some obligation to each other, as challenging as that may be?
Or are we all an island and whatever we do, if we can be helped by it that's the way the world works and you better just get used to it? If we shade the truth, well, everyone else will too. If we see an opportunity to get ahead, sue someone, or do something else that might affect someone else's well-being, they're problem?
